Victory In the Community - Support for Our Families
Since the height of the pandemic, Victory United Inc has helped keep food pantries open, and helped deliver thousands of meals feeding residents and entire communities.
Our Victory In the Community Initiatives provides programs and supports for youth and families. Our Food Insecurity program provides healthy and more nutritious foods for families in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. Victory United Inc works in collaboration with our partner schools and community centers to serve our communities by collecting and distributing groceries to families with youth in the home, senior citizens, and the home bound. The groceries are stocked at local Food pantries in which our partner schools are able to identify residents/students and families in need of these services. There is a growing need as the food insecurity gap continues to widen.
During the pandemic, Victory United Inc has also worked with local community leaders and organizations to identify families in need and provide them with small, unrestricted stipends that could be used to pay for food, rent, utilities and other critical household -related costs.
Food Insecurity Program -Queens
Victory United, Inc has teamed up with NewYork-Presbyterian to provide weekly groceries and items to youth and families in Corona, Queens - New York. Corona remains to be one of the more underserviced neighborhoods in New York City with many residents who continue to struggle to provide food for their families. The program also provides residents with access to healthier options including fresh produce, fruits and vegetables that can lead to overall improving of health and well-being and limit the intake of foods which ultimately leads to poor health-related issues. Victory United, Inc now provides weekly groceries to more than 80 youth/families each week helping to decrease food insecurity in one of the most hard hit areas of New York City. We are very thankful to our community partners for their continued support.
Food Insecurity Program - Brooklyn
Victory United, Inc has partnered with the YWCA of New York, St. Nick’s Alliance and The Campaign Against Hunger to provide weekly groceries and other items to more than 100 families throughout Brooklyn. Several households throughout the borough have limited access to consistent heathier options, leaving more access to more unhealthy options which ultimately lead to poor health-related issues. Thanks to our partners, each week Victory United, Inc is able to help provide access to healthier food options such as fresh produce and other grocery items. Since developing our Brooklyn Initiative last year, Victory United Inc has successfully expanded to four locations.
